Halstan retain Environmental accreditation

Halstan's continuing commitment to preserving our environment has recently been confirmed with successful ISO14001 reaccreditation in December 2012.

As part of the on-going programme, employees receive 'Environmental Refresher Training' which regularly brings them up to date with all the latest legislation and company guidelines.

The company provides each employee with an 'Environmental Handbook' which is split into three sections:-

  1. Major environmental issues: what they are, and how they have come about.
  2. Legislation that has been introduced to counteract these issues.
  3. How the issues and legislation affects the working environment at Halstan and the measures put in place to deal with them.

This is a Global issue which is affecting us all – if we can think before we use any resources and decide whether it is really necessary, we can reduce our consumption of energy and materials.

'Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.'
- Albert Einstein

Halstan continues to champion renewable resources policy

Halstan's 'Forest Stewardship Council' FSC recognition and 'The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification' (PEFC), gained in 2008, in conjunction with our accreditors TRADA continues to be a priority.

When purchasing paper or advising customers, the use of wood products from sustainable, creditable suppliers is always upmost in our minds.
